Our Take

The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card is our top pick for anyone getting into points and miles.

It was my first ever travel rewards credit card and it’s been a long-term keeper for us. It has an incredible signup bonus, a reasonable annual fee, and the amazing value of the points it earns.

I’ve downgraded and reapplied to earn the welcome bonus twice (you must wait 48 months since earning the bonus).

The annual fee is $95 but is easily offset for the first year (at minimum) with the welcome bonus and travel benefits.

We consider Chase Ultimate Rewards® points to be the best points currency in the industry thanks to their ability to be transferred to multiple airline and hotel partners. This gives you a ton of options for redeeming your points no matter where you want to travel.

Benefits
