Travel during off-peak times: Try to avoid weekends, holidays, and when kids are not in school. If you can’t avoid weekends then don’t travel on a holiday or when kids are in school. Research when the high and low season is for your destination. You’ll find better deals and less crowds. Just make sure that the main activities are available. Limit Alcohol Expenses: Alcohol can quickly add up so consider adding a BYOB (bring your own booze) component to the trip.

Games and Entertainment: DIY trivia, scavenger hunts, or karaoke nights are so fun!

Plan for transportation: If you have a big group it may not be a good idea to rely on ridesharing. Look into public transportation, or book activities with transportation included.

Prioritize experiences: Focus on the experiences that are most important. Maybe you book one slightly more expensive event and then more budget-friendly activities for the rest of the trip.

Deals and Special Offers: Keep an eye out for deals and special offers from airlines, hotels, and other travel companies. Sign up for newsletters or follow them on social media.

Group Discounts: Check for group discounts on activities you plan to do. Many places offer special rates for large groups.

Local Events and Festivals: Research any free or low-cost festivals or events happening during your trip.

Daytime Activities: Plan daytime activities that are budget-friendly like hiking, food and drink tours, or have a beach day.

Keep It Simple: The most important part of a bachelorette party is spending time with the bride-to-be and having fun together. Focus on keeping things simple.

Who is supposed to pay for The bachelorette trip?

Traditionally, the responsibility of paying for the bachelorette trip falls on the bachelorette party guests. But it’s important to have open communication and consideration of the financial situations of everyone involved. Ultimately, this is the bride’s party so their wishes are the only ones that truly matter. Here are some options to consider:

Equal Contribution: In many cases, all attendees, including the bridesmaids contribute equally to cover the costs of the bachelorette trip.

Bridesmaids Cover Bride’s Expenses: Sometimes, the bridesmaids may take on the responsibility of covering the bride’s expenses for the bachelorette trip. This could include the bride’s transportation, accommodations, and activities.

Splitting the Bride’s Costs: This is when all attendees contribute to cover the bride’s expenses equally, reducing the financial burden on the bridesmaids.

Bride Pays Her Own Way: In some cases, the bride may choose to cover their own expenses for the bachelorette trip. This decision might be made if the bride wants to ensure that the event is affordable for everyone or because they prefer to handle their own costs.

Just remember that there’s no right or wrong way to go about this. For my bachelorette party, I decided to pay for the favors because I wanted to keep the costs down for everyone else. Many people were appalled by this, but it was my decision and I don’t regret it.

The number of nights needed for a bachelorette trip is dependent on many factors like the destination, the activities planned, and everyone’s preferences. It’s important to communicate with everyone to find a timeframe that works for everyone’s schedules and budget.

Ultimately, this is about the bride, and not everyone is going to agree on everything. At the end of the day, the bride’s preferences should be the ones most considered.

Austin, TX

Austin, Texas, is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World,” and has a ton of options for fun daytime and nightlife fun. From iconic music bars on Sixth Street to outdoor concerts in Zilker Park.

Explore the scenic trails and swimming holes in the Barton Creek Greenbelt, or take a dip in the natural springs at Barton Springs Pool. Visit the funky and eclectic South Congress neighborhood, where you’ll find unique shops, street art, and affordable food trucks.

Portland, OR

Shenandoah Valley, Virginia, is a hidden gem and an excellent destination for a budget-friendly bachelorette trip. The valley is nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Allegheny Mountains the perfect backdrop for a bachelorette party.

Napa Valley has nothing on the Shenandoah Valley which is home to numerous wineries, breweries, and cideries with many offering tastings and tours. You’ll love the region’s farm-to-table culture and visiting charming towns like Staunton. Wait did we already talk about this one? Nope, there’s another Portland that would make the perfect location for a bachelorette trip on a budget. Portland, Maine has a charming coastal setting and delicious seafood.

Portland has plenty of affordable outdoor activities like a scenic ferry ride to the nearby islands, like Peaks Island or a sunset cruise. The most affordable time to visit Portland, Maine is March, April, or May.

Savannah, GA

Savannah, Georgia, has the perfect mix of Southern Charm and fun nightlife making it a great option for a bachelorette trip. The lively River Street and City Market have plenty of restaurants, bars, and shops.

Planning Your Perfect Shenandoah Valley Girls Trip

Nestled in the heart of Virginia, Shenandoah Valley is a picturesque setting with rolling hills, lush forests, and majestic mountains. It’s a nature lover’s paradise, with amazing outdoor activities and beautiful scenery. It’s also an awesome budget-friendly alternative to other girls trip destinations.

Getting to Shenandoah Valley

You know that Shenandoah Valley is the perfect girls trip destination, but what’s the best way to get there? Well, that does depend on where you plan to visit within the Shenandoah Valley. Let’s use Shenandoah National Park as an example.

The closest airport to Shenandoah National Park is Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO), which is approximately 45 miles southeast of the park. This regional airport offers domestic flights and serves as a gateway to the Shenandoah Valley region.

Another option is the Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), approximately 80 miles northeast of Shenandoah National Park. As a major international airport, IAD will offer a wide range of flight options and is well-connected to various destinations.

If you prefer a larger airport with even more flight options, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is another option. Located approximately 100 miles northeast of Shenandoah National Park, DCA is a major airport serving the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Once you’ve arrived at your chosen airport, there are several transportation options available to reach Shenandoah Valley. But most definitely rent a car as you’ll want to explore the area at your own pace.

Keep in mind that you won’t find an airport in immediate proximity to Shenandoah National Park, the scenic drive to the park from any of these airports is part of the experience!

When we visited Shenandoah Valley we flew into DCA. We rented a car through AutoSlash and drove 2 hours to Harrisonburg, VA. It was one of the most beautiful and scenic drives I’ve ever experienced.

Harrisonburg was perfect for us because of its proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. It is also one of the larger cities within the Shenandoah Valley with many hotels, restaurants, wineries, and breweries.

Where to stay in Shenandoah Valley

When planning your girls trip to Shenandoah Valley, you’ll find plenty of affordable accommodation options in the nearby towns within the valley.

Winchester: Located in the northern part of the valley, Winchester is a historic city with a vibrant downtown area. It offers a blend of history, culture, and outdoor activities, including museums, art galleries, and nearby nature parks.

Harrisonburg: Situated in the central region of Shenandoah Valley, Harrisonburg is home to James Madison University and one of the largest cities in the area. The city offers a thriving arts scene, a variety of dining options, and access to outdoor activities in nearby national forests. This is where we stayed and I highly recommend it!

Staunton: Located in the southern part of the valley, Staunton is a charming town with well-preserved architecture and a lively arts community. Its historic downtown area is filled with unique shops, art galleries, and the world-renowned American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Playhouse.

Front Royal: Positioned at the northern gateway to Shenandoah National Park, Front Royal is a popular starting point for exploring the park’s scenic beauty. It offers outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and canoeing, as well as a variety of shops and restaurants. Many people like to start here and take Skyline Drive down through the entire park (park admission required).

Luray: Known for its proximity to Luray Caverns, one of the largest and most popular cave systems in the eastern United States, Luray is a small town with many natural wonders and outdoor activities. The town also offers quaint shops, local eateries, and access to the Shenandoah River.

Lexington: Situated in the southern part of Shenandoah Valley, Lexington is a historic town with a rich heritage. It is home to two prestigious colleges, Washington and Lee University, and Virginia Military Institute, and features historic architecture, museums, and annual events.

Waynesboro: nestled in the heart of Shenandoah Valley, Waynesboro offers a charming and welcoming atmosphere that makes it an appealing place to stay when exploring the region. It is in close proximity to Shenandoah National Park and Blue Ridge Parkway making it the perfect location for outdoor adventures and scenic drives. It’s also conveniently located near a wide variety of lovely restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Girls Just Wanna Hike

When it comes to a girls trip to Shenandoah Valley, there’s nothing quite like immersing yourself in the stunning natural beauty through hiking. Shenandoah Valley offers so many scenic trails making it an ideal destination for hikers of all skill levels.

Shenandoah National Park is an obvious choice from leisurely strolls to challenging hikes, but there are so many options in the Shenandoah Valley for hiking. The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests offer a network of trails, including the popular Crabtree Falls trail.

Remember before you embark on your hiking adventures in Shenandoah Valley, be prepared. Wear the right footwear and clothing, and pack plenty of water and snacks. Also, be mindful of the park’s guidelines, respect wildlife and vegetation, and leave no trace behind. If you’re driving, make sure you fill up as there may not be a nearby gas station.

Humpback Rocks

Humpback Rocks is situated within Shenandoah National Park. The hike to the summit is approximately 1.0 mile each way where you’ll have panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s the perfect backdrop for photos or a nice picnic. Nearby, you can explore the Humpback Rocks Farm, a preserved 19th-century mountain farm that provides insights into the area’s past.

Sherando Lake

Nestled within George Washington National Forest, Sherando Lake is a hidden gem and picturesque lake near Lyndhurst, Virginia. Sherando Lake is a natural oasis with its crystal-clear waters and sandy beaches. The lake is a great spot for boating, kayaking, canoeing, or paddleboarding. Trails that surround the lake include Blue Loop Trail and the White Loop Trail. There are also picnic areas with grills and picnic tables.

Blue Ridge Tunnel

The Blue Ridge Tunnel, also known as the Crozet Tunnel, is a remarkable historic landmark that stands as a testament to engineering ingenuity in Shenandoah Valley. Located near the town of Afton, Virginia, this tunnel was constructed in the 1850s.

Explore Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park is the crown jewel of Shenandoah Valley. With over 500 miles of trails and stunning scenic drives along the iconic Skyline Drive, the park offers endless opportunities for exploration.

When visiting Shenandoah National Park, we did the Frazier Discovery Trail and really enjoyed it. Although it was considered an easy trail, it was quite rocky. It’s always a good idea to check trail conditions and pick trails that match your fitness level and preferences.

Most establishments offer tastings and tours and when it comes to transportation it’s important to be responsible. There are options for private transportation and tours so that everyone can just sit back, relax and enjoy the day.

Whether you’re a wine connoisseur, beer aficionado, or simply enjoy exploring local flavors, the Nelson 151 Trail of wineries, breweries, cideries, and distilleries is the perfect way to spend a girls trip in Shenandoah Valley!

Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail

A girls trip to Shenandoah Valley would not be complete without exploring the world of Virginia wines. The Shenandoah Valley Wine Trail is the perfect way to enjoy wine from a variety of different vineyards while also exploring the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

The Shenandoah Wine Trail is home to a variety of wineries, each offering its own unique experience. Rockbridge Vineyard, Bluestone Vineyard, and CrossKeys Vineyards are just a few of the amazing wineries along the trail. These establishments combine traditional winemaking techniques with the unique terroir of Shenandoah Valley, producing a range of varietals for every palate. Many wineries offer guided tours and tastings.

When you’re planning on how to get around, check out local transportation services, private shuttles, and tour companies which often provide specialized packages tailored to the Shenandoah Wine Trail. Other famous caverns include the Shenandoah Caverns, near Quicksburg, where you’ll step into the “Grotto of the Gods” and be awed by the cathedral-like chamber filled with intricate draperies, sparkling crystals, and towering columns.

Venturing beyond Luray and Shenandoah Caverns, you’ll find other lesser-known caverns like Skyline Caverns near Front Royal and Endless Caverns in New Market.

Regardless of which of Virginia’s caverns you visit, you and your friends will experience extraordinary formations and appreciate the hidden wonders beneath the Shenandoah Valley. It’s honestly one of the coolest things we’ve done!

Perched atop the Blue Ridge Mountains, Swannanoa is a magnificent historical hotel that will transport you to a bygone era of grandeur and elegance. The structure was built in the early 20th century and boasts stunning marble exteriors and intricate details that showcase that time in history.

They offer guided tours, weddings, and receptions, private events, photo shoots, and parties all with the backdrop of the breathtaking views of the Shenandoah Valley. Swannanoa offers a magical experience perfect for a girls trip!

The park is known for its scenic beauty, including the iconic Skyline Drive, which offers views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.

How far is Shenandoah Valley from major cities?

Shenandoah Valley is about 75 miles west of Washington, D.C., and about 120 miles northwest of Richmond, Virginia. But the distance will depend on where you’re starting from. We started in D.C. and stayed in Harrisonburg which is one of the largest cities in the valley and was about 2 hours away from D.C.

What is the best time of year to visit Shenandoah Valley?

Fall is probably the best time to visit the Shenandoah Valley for the milder temperatures and fewer crowds. Spring and fall both offer mild temperatures and beautiful scenery, with spring showcasing wildflowers and fall with stunning foliage. Summer is popular for outdoor activities, while winter is quieter and has the potential for snowfall.

We visited in July and the mornings were in the low 80s with the afternoons warming up to the high 80s or low 90s. It was sunny with some occasional afternoon and evening showers. We were there during the weekdays of the July 4th holiday and found that it was not crowded and quite pleasant. It did get more crowded on the weekend.

Remember, if you want to find the best time to travel for your budget and fewer crowds then avoid weekends, holidays, and when kids are out of school. And always check the local weather no matter what time of year.

Are there accommodations available in Shenandoah Valley?

What is the best time to visit Palm Beach FL?

Palm Beach, Florida is a great year-round destination, but that also depends on your preferences and what you’re looking for in a vacation destination.

Florida is popularly known as the Sunshine State, but it’s worth noting that it can rain heavily at times, especially between May to October. Additionally, the hurricane season in Florida runs from June to November, so it’s important to keep this in mind while planning your trip. This doesn’t mean you should entirely avoid visiting during hurricane season, but it’s always better to be prepared.

During the summer months, from June through September, Palm Beach experiences higher temperatures and humidity, with temperatures ranging from the mid-80s to mid-90s. While the water is warm, this time of year can be uncomfortable for outdoor activities. But if you don’t mind the heat, you may be able to find good deals on hotels and activities during this time.

For milder temperatures, the best time to visit is during the fall and winter months. Springtime temperatures begin to rise, but March and April are still great months to visit Palm Beach and the surrounding areas.

So yes, St. Augustine is a great destination for a girls trip. It offers a little bit of everything, from history and culture to relaxation and adventure. Plus, with its warm weather and laid-back vibe, it’s the perfect place to escape and create fun memories with your gal pals!

Does St. Augustine have a good nightlife?

While St. Augustine may not have the same wild nightlife scene as cities like Miami or Orlando, there are still plenty of options for a fun night out. Do Spring Breakers go to St. Augustine?

That being said, there are still plenty of things to do in St. Augustine during spring break. It’s a great destination if you want to enjoy the city’s historic sites, visit the beaches, or enjoy one of the many festivals or events that take place throughout the year.

And while the nightlife may not be as wild as in other cities, there are still plenty of bars and restaurants. Personally, I think St. Augustine would be great during spring break because it’s likely to be less crowded than other popular destinations.

So even though St. Augustine may not be a top choice for spring breakers looking for a wild party scene, it’s still a great destination for anyone looking for a fun and unique vacation experience.

If you’re looking to party in the nightclubs, spend time in the casino, lay by the pool, catch a show, and have some fun dinners then you can pack all that into three days in Vegas. If you’re interested in exploring the surrounding area, the Grand Canyon, or Red Rock Canyon then you may want to tack on a couple of extra days.

How do you get the most out of your trip to Las Vegas?

Make a list of must-do activities: Do some research on the top attractions and events in Las Vegas and make a list of the ones you don’t want to miss. Some of the ideas in this post should make the list!

Book in advance: There’s always something to do in Vegas, but if you have specific shows, restaurants or activities booking in advance can save you time and money. Even if you book only a couple of things in advance you’ll have something to look forward to and can plan around those activities.

Don’t rent a car: If you’re heading to the strip there’s no reason to have a car. You can either walk or take a ride share like Uber and Lyft. The strip is pretty long so be prepared for a lot of walking.

Expand your food palate: Las Vegas is known for its amazing restaurants, so there’s no excuse not to try something new.

Stay hydrated: With all the excitement and fun, it’s easy to forget to drink enough water. Las Vegas is located in the middle of the desert, so it’s essential to stay hydrated. Be sure to carry a water bottle with you. If you’re laying by the pool wear sunscreen and reapply frequently.

Take advantage of free attractions: Las Vegas is known for its extravagant and luxurious attractions, but there are also many free things to see and do. Take a walk along the Strip, watch the Bellagio fountains, or visit the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat.

Is 5 days too long in Nashville?

5 days is not too long in Nashville, especially if you want to explore the city’s music and food scene in depth. However it all depends on your preferences. Five days will give you enough time to take in the main sights and sounds while also allowing you to take in some of the lesser-known parts of the city.

During your five days in Nashville, you can explore the Music Row, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the Grand Ole Opry, and check out some live music performances. You can also explore the city’s vibrant neighborhoods such as The Gulch, East Nashville, and 12 South. You could also take a day trip to some of the nearby attractions like the Belle Meade Plantation, the Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, or the Jack Daniel’s Distillery.

Kick-off Your Girls Trip with Music and Drinks on Broadway

Welcome to Nashville, ladies! To start off your girls trip to Nashville itinerary, head to the heart of Music City and take a stroll down famous Broadway. This historic street is lined with honky-tonks, bars, and live music venues, making it the perfect spot to kick off your trip.

Start off at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, a Nashville institution known for its live country music and famous patrons like Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline. From there, make your way down Broadway and pop into other iconic spots like Robert’s Western World and The Stage.

Nashville is known as the Music City for a reason. The honky tonks (bars with live music) have performers starting in the morning until late at night. So, as you walk down the street if you hear something you like, poke your head inside. You never know who may be playing. You’ll find everything from bluegrass to blues and rockabilly.

After a night of music and drinks, grab a bite to eat at one of the many late-night restaurants on Broadway. Jack’s BBQ and The Stillery are both great options for some delicious southern-style food.

End your night with a trip to the rooftop bar at the the classy Twelve Thirty Club. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes because tonight, you’ll be living it up like true Nashville locals.

Explore the City of Nashville

Nashville is the Music City, but it’s also filled with rich culture and history. Start off your day by hopping on and hopping off the Nashville Hop on/Hop off Trolley tour.

The hop on hop off trolley tour is a great way to see the city at your own pace and explore the many different neighborhoods and landmarks that make Nashville unique. The trolley tour also offers an audio guide that provides interesting information and history of the city.

The tour is very affordable and is a great way to explore the city in a fun, convenient, and efficient way. So, if you’re planning a trip to Nashville, be sure to include a hop on hop off trolley tour in your itinerary.

• Bicentennial Capitol Mall and State Park and visit The Parthenon
• Nashville Farmer’s Market
• Wildhorse Saloon

Indulge in the Local Cuisine and Shopping

Today, it’s all about indulging in the delicious food and shopping that Nashville has to offer. Start off your day with brunch at Biscuit Love, where you can enjoy delicious southern-style biscuits and gravy, chicken and waffles, and more. Biscuit Love has several locations, but arrive early!

Next, spend the afternoon shopping at some of Nashville’s best boutiques and vintage shops. Head to the Hillsboro Village neighborhood for a mix of local and national retailers, including Fanny’s House of Music and White’s Mercantile.

If you need a yummy afternoon pick me up, definitely grab a donut (or 12) at Five Daughers Bakery!

For dinner, take a trip to the Germantown neighborhood and try out the famous hot chicken at Prince’s Hot Chicken Shack or Hattie B’s. This Nashville specialty is a must-try for any hot chicken lover.

If you’re looking for a unique dining experience head over to The Catbird Seat, which offers an interactive, multi-course meal prepared by the chefs right in front of you. You’ll want to book in advance.

After dinner, take a walk around the Germantown neighborhood and enjoy a cold drink at one of the local bars and brewpubs like the Black Abbey Brewing Company.

Take a Day Trip to Surrounding Areas

If you have the time, spend the day exploring the areas right outside of Nashville. Start off your day by taking a scenic drive to the beautiful Belle Meade Plantation, where you can take a guided tour of the historical mansion and learn about the history of the property and the lives of the people who lived there.

If you and the girls love wine, you’ll definitely want to visit the Belle Mead Winery for a tasting! Enjoy the beautiful 32 acres grounds, the restaurant, games court and more. If you do not have a reservation for a ticketed event, you can purchase a pass that will gain you access to the grounds and includes a free tasting (21+).

If you’re looking for something a little more off the beaten path, take a trip to the Cheekwood Estate & Gardens. This 55-acre estate is home to beautiful gardens, art galleries, and a historic mansion. The estate also features hiking trails, perfect for a scenic walk.

For wine, you can also visit Arrington Vineyards, located just outside of Nashville. Here you can sample some of Tennessee’s finest wines and take in the beautiful views of the vineyard.

You may also want to check out the historic town of Franklin, just a short drive from Nashville. Here you’ll find charming antique shops, art galleries and a beautiful downtown square. Be sure to check out the Carter House and the Lotz House, two important Civil War sites in the area.

End your day with dinner at the Loveless Cafe, a Nashville institution known for its southern-style cooking and homemade preserves.

Public transportation: Nashville has a great public transportation system, with the Music City Circuit, a free bus service that runs throughout downtown Nashville, and the Nashville MTA, which operates bus and light rail services throughout the city.

Ridesharing: Uber and Lyft are both widely available in Nashville, making it easy to get around the city quickly and affordably.

Car rental: If you prefer to have your own transportation, car rental companies like Enterprise, Avis, and Hertz are all located in the city and can be a good option for getting around.

Bike rental: If you prefer a more active way to explore the city, Nashville has a bike-sharing program, B-cycle, which allows you to rent a bike from one of the many stations around the city.

Savannah is one of the best places in the United States for a girls trip. The city is filled with Southern charm, rich history and culture, and world-class dining and nightlife.

As a Floridian myself (a short drive away from Savannah), I can attest to the fact that a visit to Savannah is a great way to get away from the daily routine. I’ve been to Savannah for bachelorette parties, 30th birthdays, and mother-daughter getaways and can honestly say it’s the perfect spot for a girls trip. Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, or a bit of both, you’ll find it in Savannah.

What is the best time of year to visit Savannah GA?

Spring and fall are generally the best times of the year to visit Savannah, GA. However, I would consider Savannah a year-round destination, so the best time to visit will depend on what you’re looking for in a girls trip. Here are some factors to consider:

Weather: As with most places in the South, the weather in Savannah can be hot and humid in the summer, with temperatures often getting higher than 90°F. In the Spring and fall you’ll generally have milder weather, with temperatures in the 70s and 80s. Winter is the coolest season, with average temperatures in the 50s. If you’re looking for a warm-weather getaway, the summer months may be ideal, but if you prefer milder temperatures, spring or fall may be better.

Festivals and Events: Savannah is known for its many festivals and events throughout the year. One of the most popular is the Savannah Music Festival, which takes place in March and April. There’s also the Savannah Food and Wine Festival in November and the Savannah Jazz Festival in September.

Crowds: Peak tourist season usually runs from late spring through early fall so if you plan to travel during this time expect crowds. If you prefer fewer crowds, consider visiting during the winter or early spring months.

Another perk that makes Savannah a good party city is their open container policy. Savannah has designated “to-go cup zones” in the city, such as the River Street area, where you can purchase alcohol from licensed establishments and then carry it outside within a designated area.

Savannah is among the few cities in the United States that allow open containers in certain designated areas. This open container policy has made Savannah a popular destination for holidays such as St. Patrick’s Day (where the river is even dyed green) and New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Some of the best-fried chicken in Savannah can be found at Mrs. Wilkes Dining Room, a family-owned restaurant that has been serving Southern comfort food for more than 70 years. But get there early!

When it comes to drinks, Savannah is known for its craft cocktails, with many local bars and restaurants offering unique and creative concoctions.

3. The Shopping

If you and your group love to shop then shopping in Savannah is a great reason to add this city to your bucket list. Savannah has many unique and charming boutiques, antique shops, and specialty stores, offering a one-of-a-kind shopping experience.

Broughton Street is lined with shops with everything from handmade jewelry to vintage clothing and antiques. Take a Ghost Tour: Savannah is said to be one of the most haunted cities in America, so why not take a ghost tour to learn about the city’s spooky history? There are plenty of tours to choose from, ranging from walking tours to haunted pub crawls.

From visiting Buckingham Palace to enjoying a traditional afternoon tea, there is no shortage of activities to keep you busy and entertained. In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at some of the must-do experiences for a girls trip to London, so you can make the most of your time!

How many days do you need to visit London for the first time?

It’s really going to depend on your personal preferences and interests, but typically, a first-time visitor to London would need about 4 to 5 days to see all the city’s major attractions and have a good taste of what the city has to offer.

This allows enough time to visit popular sites like Buckingham Palace, the British Museum, the Tower of London, and the National Gallery, while also taking time for afternoon tea, shopping, dining, and exploring the city’s neighborhoods.

The first time I visited London we only stayed for 3 nights. London is an expensive city so my wallet was happier, but we could have easily stayed longer without getting bored. Ultimately, the amount of time needed will heavily depend on your budget and interests.

• Westfield Shopping Centres: With two locations in London, Westfield Stratford City and Westfield London, you’ll find hundreds of shops and restaurants, as well as a cinema, bowling alley, and ice-skating rink.

Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the Queen and a symbol of the British monarchy. You can watch the Changing of the Guard ceremony, take a tour of the staterooms, or enjoy the view of the palace from outside the gates.

The Tower of London is a historic castle and former royal palace that is now home to the Crown Jewels. You can take a tour of the castle, see the famous ravens, and learn about the history of the royal family.

Big Ben is one of London’s most iconic landmarks and is now officially known as the Elizabeth Tower. Visitors can tour the Houses of Parliament, admire the clock tower, and learn about the history of the British government.

The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel that offers breathtaking views of the city. Enjoy panoramic views of London from 135 meters above the ground.

St. Paul’s Cathedral is a masterpiece of Baroque architecture and one of the most famous landmarks in London.

Take a Big Bus Tour of London

When we visit a large city we always purchase a ticket for the Big Bus tours. In my opinion, it’s the best way to get around and you get a narrated tour at the same time! The Big Bus Tour in London is particularly great because it includes a one-way 30-minute river cruise on the Thames River.

If it wasn’t for our Big Bus tour we never would have been able to see as much as we did in such a short amount of time. It’s one of my favorite activities when we’re sightseeing!

3. Enjoy a show in the West End

The West End is the heart of London’s theater scene (referred to as “Theatreland”) and a must-visit destination for any culture lover. With about 40 or so world-famous theaters, a diverse range of shows, and some of the best actors and performers in the world, a night at the theater is perfect for a girls trip to London.

But the West End is not only about the theater, you’ll also find many restaurants, shops, entertainment and nightclubs. There’s also many sights to see like Picadilly Circus or The National Gallery.

4. Visit the London Markets

From food markets to vintage markets, London is full of diverse markets. Here are some of the top markets to visit on your girls’ trip to London.

Borough Market is one of London’s oldest and most famous food markets, offering a wide range of food and drink from around the world. Sample delicious street food, buy fresh ingredients for a picnic, or simply enjoy a coffee and people-watch.

Camden Market is one of London’s most vibrant and eclectic markets, offering a wide range of vintage clothing, handmade crafts, and street food. Explore the market’s many stalls, admire the street art, and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Portobello Road Market is one of London’s largest and most famous antique markets, offering a wide range of vintage and antique items.

Spitalfields Market is a bustling indoor market that offers a wide range of food, clothing, and handmade crafts. Enjoy street food, buy fresh produce, and explore the market’s many stalls and shops.

Brick Lane Market is a vibrant market where you can sample delicious curries, browse vintage clothing, and admire the street art that covers the surrounding buildings.

Afternoon tea is a quintessentially British experience that is perfect for a girls’ trip to London. Head to a traditional tea room or hotel to enjoy a spread of sandwiches, scones, and pastries, accompanied by a pot of tea… and if you’re feeling fancy a nice glass of champagne.

But don’t get it mixed up with High Tea. Afternoon tea is an indulgent experience that involves savoring a selection of sandwiches, pastries, and scones, all washed down with a pot of tea. High Tea is more of a light supper that includes a heavier meal of meat or fish.

The Ritz London is one of the city’s most iconic and luxurious hotels, and its afternoon tea is an experience. You’ll need to dress to impress to enjoy the spread which is served on fine china, in the hotel’s stunning Palm Court.
