You are not alone, everyone who is looking to travel to the most magical place on Earth wants to do it while spending as little as possible. In this post, we will explore ways to save money on Disney World hotels.

I have lived in Florida my whole life and have spent many times traveling up to Orlando to spend time at Disney World as an annual pass holder.

I’ve also stayed on-site at Disney-owned resorts, Disney Springs Area hotels, and off-site resorts and hotels. So, I know the ins and outs of figuring out Disney World accommodations.

From visiting during the off-season to using points and miles to help offset the cost or even erase it, you will have everything you need to plan your next trip to Disney World without breaking the bank on Disney World hotels.

Whether you’re planning a girls trip to Disney World, a magical romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a trip of any type, these tips will give you what you need to save money on Disney World hotels.

You can use that extra cash saved for Disney tickets, food or even souvenirs!

1. Visit during Off-Peak Dates

If you can be flexible with your dates, traveling during off-peak dates will save money on Disney World hotels. We like to check the Disney World crowd calendars to confirm the best times to visit, but it’s generally going to be during the weekdays while kids are in school.

Best Times to Visit:

• Late January through early February
• Late April through early June (before schools let out)
• Late August through September

Late January through early February is after the holiday rush and before the spring break crowds. You can enjoy much cooler weather with fewer crowds. This is my favorite time to visit Disney World!

Late April through early June is another sweet spot between spring break and the start of the summer vacation season, with the bonus of nice weather.

Lastly, late August through September marks the end of summer and the start of the school year, which not only sees a decrease in crowds but also often lowers hotel rates and promotional offers direct from Disney World. Additionally, you want to avoid major U.S. holidays.

2. Use Points to book your Disney World Hotel

My favorite way to save on travel is to earn and redeem points and miles.

I like to do this by being strategic about my everyday spending and using credit cards, but you can also earn points without applying for new credit cards.

The point is to earn loyalty points on purchases you already plan to make so that you can get the most out of your money!

Luckily, Disney World has an “on property” hotel that can be booked with loyalty rewards points, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin which is a Marriott property. This means that it can be booked with Marriott Bonvoy points!

The Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin has 3 distinct properties that can be booked with Marriott Bonvoy:

• Walt Disney World Swan
• Walt Disney World Dolphin
• Walt Disney World Swan Reserve

Of course, if you want the best points redemption rate, you’ll want to book off-peak dates, and if there is availability you are in for a treat!

The Swan and Dolphin is a beautiful property within walking distance of both EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. It’s one of our favorite places to stay at Disney World.

3. Get reimbursed by your Credit Card

A great way to offset the cost of your hotel stay at Disney World is to use credit card points and miles to reimburse you for the purchase. The best credit card (in my opinion) to do this with is the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card.

Not only is it a great premium travel card with many travel benefits, but you can redeem miles and reimburse eligible travel purchases on the credit card statement.

The purchase must be coded as travel and can only be credited within 90 days of the travel purchase.

The Capital One Venture X does have a $395 annual fee, but don’t let that scare you there are ways to offset the annual fees to make them worth it.

Here’s how to get reimbursed:

Make Your Booking: Use your Capital One Venture X card to book your hotel stay. Ensure that the booking will be coded as travel. Usually, when you book directly with the hotel, it should be coded as travel.

Check Your Statement: After your stay, keep an eye on your credit card statement to confirm that the hotel purchase was indeed coded as travel and eligible for reimbursement.

Apply Reimbursement: Within 90 days of your purchase, you can apply your Venture Miles to cover eligible travel purchases.

The redemption is done at a fixed value of 1 cent per point. So if you have 100,000 Venture Miles, they are worth $1,000 for eligible travel purchases.

4. Book through a Credit Card Travel Portal with points

Another credit option for using credit card points is to book through the travel portal. This provides flexibility because even if you don’t have a credit card that can transfer points to Marriott or other hotel loyalty programs you may still be able to use your points to book hotels at Disney World!

Considerations When Booking Through a Portal:

Redemption Value: The value of points can vary significantly across different credit card travel portals. For instance, Chase Ultimate Rewards® points are redeemed at a fixed value of 1.25 cents per point for the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or 1.5 cents per point with the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

Availability and Restrictions: Some hotels on third-party booking sites or the hotel’s website might not appear in credit card travel portals. Some bookings made through these portals might not be eligible for hotel loyalty points or status benefits.

Promotions and Deals: Occasionally, travel portals offer special promotions or deals that enhance the value of your points or provide additional perks, such as room upgrades or late checkout. You’ll want to keep an eye out for these offers so that you can maximize your benefits.

Even if you don’t want to use your points to pay for the hotel through the credit card travel portal, it can still make sense to book this way if your credit card gives you a travel credit or offers bonus points.

In the image below, you’ll see I have a $100 credit (when spending $500 or more) to use with the Citi Travel Portal from my Citi Strata Premier℠  At the time they were also offering 10X bonus points when booking hotels through Citi Travel when paying cash.

5. Use Free Night Certificates

Free Night Certificates have different terms and conditions for every loyalty program, but they are a voucher for a free night stay.

Leveraging these certificates can significantly reduce the overall cost of your trip to Disney World.

In most instances, you will not be able to use a free night award for a Disney-owned property, but they can work for the Swan and Dolphin through Marriott Bonvoy if you can find eligible nights which is possible if you’re flexible with your dates!

How to Earn Free Night Certificates:

Hotel Loyalty Programs: Many hotel chains offer free night certificates as part of their loyalty program rewards, earned by reaching certain membership tiers or after a set number of stays within a calendar year. Examples are Hilton and Marriott.

Credit Card Benefits: Specific travel credit cards partner with hotel brands to offer annual free night certificates to cardholders as part of the card’s benefits.

Maximizing the Value of Free Night Certificates:

Understand the Terms: Certificates often come with conditions, such as blackout dates, category or hotel restrictions, points caps, and expiration dates. You’ll want to ensure that you are familiar with these before using your free night award.

Combine with Other Rewards: Sometimes you can pair a free night certificate with points or cash stays to help cover your stay.

6. Stay at Disney Springs Area Hotels

Staying at Disney Springs Area hotels will give you a blend of value and Disney magic where you can enjoy some perks of staying on Disney property without the higher price tag.

These hotels provide convenient access to dining, shopping, and entertainment within a short walk or complimentary shuttle ride to the Disney parks.

As a bonus, many of the Disney Springs Area hotels are part of well-known hotel loyalty programs, such as IHG, Hilton Honors, and Wyndham Rewards.

This gives you the option to use loyalty points and miles to offset or completely cover the cost of your hotel stay at Disney World!

7. Stay offsite

As much as I love Disney-owned and non-owned hotels at Disney World, there are plenty of amazing options offsite as well. Disney-approved offsite properties near Disney World are called “Good Neighbor Hotels”.

Many of these hotel properties are with a variety of major hotel chains so you have the option to use points and book directly on the hotel website, maybe use a statement credit option or you may be able to find them on the travel portal.

We have stayed at many of these hotels and you really can’t go wrong as they are carefully selected by Disney to be included on the list of Good Neighbor Hotels.

8. Purchase discounted Disney Gift Cards

Another great way to save on a trip to Disney World including your accommodations is to save up for the trip by purchasing discounted Disney Gift Cards.

Disney Gift Cards are an acceptable payment method across Disney parks, resorts, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Store locations in the U.S., and shopDisney.com.

They can cover practically every expense associated with your trip, from park tickets and hotel stays to dining, merchandise, and even annual passes.

Finding Discounted Disney Gift Cards

The key to this strategy lies in purchasing Disney gift cards at a discount. Here’s how you can find discounted Disney gift cards:

Warehouse Clubs: You may find Disney Gift Cards at places like Costco, Sam’s Club, and BJ’s Wholesale at a slight discount. Even savings of 2-5% can add up, especially on larger purchases.

Grocery and Retail Stores: Some grocery stores may have discounted gift cards or if you have a store credit card like the Target RedCard you could get 5% back when purchasing Disney Gift Cards at Target. I’ve even found discounted Disney Gift Cards online at Best Buy!

Credit Card Rewards: Use credit cards that offer bonus points or cash back at certain retailers that offer Disney Gift Cards. For example, some credit cards give you bonuses at grocery stores or office supply stores where Disney Gift Cards are sold.

Gift Card Resale Sites: Websites that sell discounted gift cards may occasionally list Disney gift cards. While these offers can be more sporadic, they’re worth checking out for potential savings.

9. Earn Cash Back with Shopping Portals

We all shop, so why not earn cash back on these purchases on top of any credit card points you may be earning? I’m talking about shopping portals!

These online portals offer a percentage of your purchase back in the form of cashback which can be cashed out for gift cards, deposited into your bank account, or in some instances, credit card points.

This can be another way that you save up for that trip to Disney World!

Popular Shopping Portals that we like:

• Rakuten – instead of cash back you can opt to earn American Express Membership Rewards points instead. These points can then be used for booking flights, hotels, and more.
• Swagbucks
• BeFrugal

Maximizing Your Earnings

Look for Special Promotions: Shopping portals frequently run promotions offering higher cash-back rates or bonus points. Plan your larger purchases around these promotions to maximize your earnings.

Refer Friends: Many shopping portals offer referral bonuses when a friend signs up and makes a purchase through the portal.

Combine with Credit Card Rewards: Use a travel rewards credit card for your purchases through the portal to earn cash back, points, or miles from both the card and the portal, this is called stacking, effectively doubling your rewards on the same purchase.

10. Renting Disney Vacation Club Points

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Members own points that they can use to book stays at DVC resorts. When members can’t use their points, they often rent them out, giving non members an opportunity to experience these resorts at a fraction of the cost.

How It Works:

Find a Point Rental Service or a DVC Member: You can rent DVC points directly from owners via forums, social media like Instagram or Facebook Groups, or websites dedicated to DVC rentals. There are also DVC point rental services which will act as a go-between for DVC members and renters.

Choose Your Dates and Resort: Decide on your travel dates and preferred DVC resort. Availability can be competitive, especially during peak seasons, so having flexibility in your travel dates or resort choices can increase your chances of securing a reservation.

Calculate Points and Cost: Each DVC resort and room type requires a certain number of points per night, varying by season. Rental services and DVC members typically charge a per-point rate. This rate is often significantly lower than booking the same room through Disney directly with cash.

Complete the Reservation: Once you confirm availability and agree to the rental terms, the DVC member or rental service will book the reservation in your name. You’ll receive a confirmation directly from Disney.

Things to Consider:

Cancellation Policies: Renting points often comes with strict cancellation policies. Understand the terms before booking, as changes or cancellations might be limited or incur fees.

Advance Planning: DVC members can book resorts up to 11 months in advance, so you’ll want to plan early to secure the best options.

Payment Policies: Most rentals require full payment upfront, and you may need to pay a deposit when you submit your reservation request.

Bottom Line

The bottom line is that if you are strategic and savvy, you can save money on Disney World hotels.

Takumi-Tei is a hidden gem nestled in the Japan Pavilion at EPCOT and offers two tasting menus served in 5 elegant rooms. It’s the perfect romantic setting.

Narcoossee’s is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian with water views and is perfect if you’re in the mood for seafood.

Steakhouse 71 is located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a more casual setting and steakhouse ambiance.

Citricos is at Disney’s Grand Floridian right next to Victoria and Albert’s but has a more casual yet elegant atmosphere. It has the feel of a refined restaurant in London and is Mary Poppins-inspired inspired.

California Grill is located on the rooftop of Disney’s Contemporary Resort and has amazing views of the Seven Seas Lagoon. It’s an elegant setting and really great food and drinks.

Flying Fish is located on Disney’s BoardWalk and is a favorite for its sophisticated ambiance while you enjoy a selection of steak and seafood dishes.

Enjoy Cocktails at Specialty Bars

One of my favorite pastimes is Happy Hour, and when it comes to finding the perfect spot for a cocktail, Disney World exceeds expectations with its selection of unique and romantic specialty bars.

Whether you’re seeking a cozy atmosphere, breathtaking views, or expertly crafted drinks, Disney World offers a variety of options to satisfy every cocktail enthusiast. They all have tasty food and snacks too!

Enchanted Rose is inspired by Beauty and the Beast and is located at Disney’s Grand Floridian. It has beautiful views of the water and an amazing selection of cocktails.

Nomad Lounge is nestled in Disney’s Animal Kingdom near Pandora. It’s a hidden gem that offers a nice escape from the park with a unique selection of cocktails and bites.

Bar Riva is at Disney’s Riviera Resort and offers a picturesque waterfront location with views of the resort’s pool and surrounding area. It’s Mediterranean-inspired and the perfect spot to enjoy an Aperol spritz and light fare.

Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto located at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort immerses you in a tropical paradise with its lively atmosphere and tiki-inspired decor.

AbracadaBar is tucked away on Disney’s BoardWalk and combines the elegance of a vintage magician’s lounge with a touch of mystery. The atmospheric setting, complete with magical decor and specialty cocktails, creates a charming and intimate atmosphere for a romantic evening.

Visit Disney Springs

Disney Spring is the ultimate date night destination and definitely has so many romantic things to do at Disney. If you’re a fan of Indiana Jones, start your evening at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar with a whimsical aviation-themed lounge with cozy seating and fun cocktails. For dinner, one of my favorites is Morimoto Asia, where you can savor exquisite Pan-Asian cuisine in a stylish and sophisticated setting.

I also love Paddlefish for fresh seafood and amazing views of the waterfront. I would also recommend stopping at Wine Bar George which features an extensive selection of wines paired with yummy bites. There are seriously so many great places for a romantic night out at Disney Springs so you really can’t go wrong.

Take a romantic stroll on Disney’s BoardWalk

I feel like people think that Disney’s BoardWalk is only a resort, but it’s actually so much more than that. It’s a lively BoardWalk that offers a mix of dining and entertainment options, making it an ideal place for a romantic night out.

It’s also perfect for a leisurely stroll to grab a slice at the Pizza Window and a scoop of ice cream from BoardWalk Ice Cream. You may even stumble upon live street performances, from musicians to jugglers.

Watch a Movie under the Stars

If you’re looking for a quiet and cozy date night the Disney Resorts usually offer complimentary screenings of beloved Disney films for guests. It’s the perfect way to relax and unwind as you enjoy the silver screen magic.

Explore the World Showcase

EPCOT’s World Showcase takes you on a journey around the globe. Romantic spots include a stop in the France pavilion, where you can enjoy a glass of fine wine, cocktails, french food, and pastries.

Visit the romantic streets of the Italy pavilion and enjoy a leisurely dinner at Tutto Italia Ristorante, accompanied by a bottle of Italian wine. At the Rose & Crown Pub in the United Kingdom pavilion, raise a pint of ale or whiskey. Or you can venture into Morocco, where you can sip on authentic drinks and eat delicious Moroccan-style food.

Decorate Cakes at Amarotte’s Patisserie

Indulge in a sweet and romantic experience at Amorette’s Patisserie by decorating cakes together. The bakery is located in Disney Springs and this experience invites you to roll up your sleeves and embrace the art of cake decorating. You’ll be under the guidance of skilled pastry chefs and learn the techniques of piping, fondant sculpting, and intricate decorations.

Disney World has some enchanting resorts making it the perfect place for a romantic getaway. Some of my favorites include Port Orleans Riverside with a charming Southern-inspired atmosphere, and its piano bar which makes for a fun evening of live music and cocktails.

Disney’s Riviera Resort is my favorite and is inspired by the French Riviera offering elegance and sophistication with its stunning architecture and panoramic views. The Grand Floridian is another favorite with its timeless beauty and Victorian-inspired design.

Disney’s BoardWalk captures the essence of a seaside boardwalk with romantic dining and entertainment. Animal Kingdom Lodge offers a unique experience with its breathtaking savanna views. The Polynesian will immerse you in a tropical paradise, complete with lush surroundings.

If you want to visit without staying at the resort, make a dining reservation or take complimentary transportation like the Disney bus system, Monorail, or Skyliner. You don’t have to be staying at the resort to enjoy the restaurants and bars.

Which Disney park is the most romantic? Hands down the best disney park for couples is EPCOT. It’s the most adult atmosphere and that’s not only because they serve more alcohol than any other park. The World Showcase has beautiful scenery and plenty of romantic spots to grab a bite or have a drink.

What does Disney do for anniversaries? While Disney does not offer specific complimentary services for anniversaries, they do provide several ways to make your anniversary celebration truly memorable. One of the simplest is the complimentary celebration buttons, including the “Happy Anniversary” buttons, which you can request upon arrival.

Are there any special accommodations or services available for couples celebrating their honeymoon? Absolutely! Disney World offers special accommodations and services for couples celebrating their honeymoon, making it an even more enchanting experience. You can start by requesting complimentary “Happily Ever After” or “Just Married” buttons upon arrival.

There’s also honeymoon-themed merchandise, such as ear hats and t-shirts. You can also enhance your honeymoon experience by ordering amenities like champagne, flowers, desserts, and room decorations. Don’t forget to check out the full list of enchanting extras.

Are there any specific locations or spots within the parks that are known for their romantic ambiance? Yes! I would recommend the area around Cinderella’s Castle and Be Our Guest restaurant area in Magic Kingdom, The France Pavillion and the Tea Garden in the United Kingdom at EPCOT, Around the Tree of Life and Pandora – The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, Baseline Taphouse and Echo Lake at Hollywood Studios.

How far in advance should I make dining reservations or book experiences for my anniversary celebration? In general, you’re usually not able to book dining or other experiences until 60 days out. If you’re staying at a Disney Resort then you’re able to start booking 60 days out from your arrival for the entire length of your stay.

Are there any recommended times of the year to visit Disney World for a more romantic and less crowded experience? Yes, you’ll want to visit Disney World when school is in session and not during major holidays. The weekdays are generally less crowded and make for a more quiet and intimate experience.

Are there any special shows or performances that are particularly romantic and suitable for an anniversary celebration? Yes! You’ll want to check out the enchanted extras, but any of the fireworks dining and dessert party experiences as well as the boat fireworks viewing experiences would be perfect for an anniversary celebration.

Luckily, there are ways to experience the magic of Disneyland Paris on a budget and I’m here to help! In this guide, I’ll share my top tips for enjoying Disneyland Paris on a budget.

From planning your trip with a smart budget in mind to choosing the best time to visit, and from staying in stylish yet affordable accommodations to savvy dining and souvenir shopping, you’ll have what you need to plan your dream trip to Disneyland Paris!

Visiting Disneyland Paris on a budget

Plan Ahead and Set a Budget

Planning ahead and setting a budget are two important steps to take before visiting any destination, and this is especially true when it comes to visiting Disneyland Paris. The park offers a wide range of attractions, entertainment, and dining options, and having a plan and budget in place can help you make the most of your visit while avoiding overspending.

First, decide on the length of your stay and which attractions and experiences you want to prioritize. Disneyland Paris has two theme parks, so it’s important to plan which rides and shows you want to see in advance. Research the park’s website and look at the attraction list to help you prioritize.

Next, you want to set a realistic budget that includes transportation, accommodation, park tickets, food, and souvenirs. Be sure to factor in the cost of meals and snacks while at the park, as well as any souvenirs or merchandise you might want to purchase.

Choose the Best Time to Visit

Choosing the best time to visit Disneyland Paris is important in order to maximize your enjoyment and avoid long lines and crowds. You’ll want to consider weather, school holidays, and special events while planning your trip.

One of the busiest times to visit Disneyland Paris is during the summer months, when schools are on break and families are taking vacations. If you have flexibility in your schedule, consider visiting during the off-season, which typically runs from January to March and from September to November. During this time, the park is typically less crowded and you may find better deals on accommodations and tickets.

We visited at the end of March and although it was cold and somewhat cloudy the parks were definitely not at capacity. There were of course still crowds, but it was much more manageable than during the busiest time of year.

You’ll also want to check the park’s calendar for any special events or seasonal offerings that may impact your visit. For example, the park hosts Halloween and Christmas celebrations that include special parades, shows, and decorations. These events can be popular and attract large crowds, so it’s important to plan accordingly.

Lastly, consider visiting the park on weekdays rather than weekends, as weekends tend to be busier with larger crowds. We visited on a Wednesday and Thursday, prices shot up during Friday-Sunday.

Don’t stay on Disney property and use public transportation

First off, Disneyland Paris is not technically in Paris. It’s located outside of Paris in Chessy, France. We took the TGV high speed train from CDG airport to Chessy. It’s the first stop and takes about 12 mins. The ticket was 19 euros each.

Staying on Disney property can be a magical experience, but it can also be very expensive. Choosing to stay at a hotel or accommodation outside of the park can be a great way to save money during your visit to Disneyland Paris.

One great option is to stay in Val d’Europe, a nearby town that’s only one stop away from Disneyland Paris on the RER train. We chose to stay at the Moxy Paris Val d’Europe, a stylish Marriott property located only a five-minute walk from the train station. This option allowed us to save a lot of money, while still being close to the park.

The Moxy is not only affordable but also unique and trendy. Their check-in process takes place at the bar, and they even offer complimentary welcome drinks. The overall vibe and decor of the hotel are also really nice for it being so affordable.

If you’re considering staying outside of Disneyland Paris, make sure to look for accommodations near an RER train station. The RER train system provides direct access to Disneyland Paris from the Paris city center, with trains running frequently.

You may also want to consider purchasing a Navigo Pass, which provides unlimited access to public transportation throughout your stay in Paris. Make sure the pass is valid for the dates of your stay before purchasing. Choosing to stay outside of the park can be a great way to save money, without sacrificing convenience or comfort.

Bring Your Own Snacks and Drinks

When visiting theme parks, there are usually many food options available, but they can be expensive and add up quickly. Bringing your own snacks and drinks is a great way to save money while still enjoying your visit to the park.

At Disneyland Paris, the food may not meet the expectations if you are used to the food at Walt Disney World. However, there are some good options available, such as a quick service spot on Main Street that serves decent sandwiches and salads.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed when we tried the sit-down buffet-style Pym Kitchen in the Avengers Campus at Walt Disney Studios Park. The food was either not appetizing or too Americanized (American food should not exist outside of America), and it was quite expensive. If you’ve already been to the Pym Kitchen in California Adventure, you should skip this one.

To save money, it’s best to bring your own snacks, such as fruit, granola bars, sandwiches, and crackers. However, there are some restrictions on outside food and drinks within the park, such as glass containers and alcoholic beverages, so it’s important to check the park’s policies before bringing anything in.

Don’t Overdo Souvenir Shopping

I know that it’s tempting to buy a bunch of souvenirs when visiting at Disney park, but this can easily add up since of course everything is super expensive.

To avoid overspending on souvenirs, I’d recommend setting a budget for yourself before your trip and stick to it. Maybe restrict yourself to one big purchase and one small purchase for the trip. But don’t go buying stuff that you can get at any Disney park.

Before your trip, check out what they have on Shop Disney. You may be able to find some stuff on sale and pay through a shopping portal like Rakuten or Topcashback to save some money by getting cash back.

Essentials for Disneyland Paris

When visiting Disneyland Paris, you should be prepared with the right essentials to make your trip as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. Here are some must-have items to pack for your visit:

Comfortable Shoes – You’ll be doing a lot of walking and standing, so wear comfortable shoes.

Weather-Appropriate Clothing – Check the weather forecast before your trip and pack a poncho in the case of rain. I also like to bring extra socks, sweats and undies in case I get wet on a ride.

Sun Protection – the worst is coming home with a sunburn from standing in the sun all day.

Backpack or Bag – Bring a reasonably sized backpack or bag to carry your stuff, such as snacks, drinks, and souvenirs.

Phone Charger – Phone batteries die fast at theme park even if you think you won’t be using it that much. So, bring a portable charger or extra charging cable.

Cash or Credit Card – You won’t need a lot of cash as pretty much every place in the park will take credit card, but it’s good to have some on hand in case your card does not go through. You won’t need to pay to use any of the toilettes on Disney property.

Is Disneyland Paris as good as Florida?

As an annual pass holder for Walt Disney World in Florida, I will say that Disneyland Paris is absolutely not as good as Florida.

But with that being said, it’s not fair to compare. Both Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney World in Florida offer unique experiences and have their own charm.

Walt Disney World in Florida is significantly larger than Disneyland Paris, with four theme parks, two water parks, and a plethora of other attractions and activities. The sheer size and scale of Walt Disney World are pretty overwhelming, but it also means that there is a lot more to see and do.

Although Disneyland Paris may not have as many attractions as Walt Disney World, its smaller size and more compact layout can make it feel more manageable and easier to navigate. Additionally, the park’s blend of European and American influences creates a unique atmosphere that sets it apart from other Disney parks.

Ultimately, whether Disneyland Paris is as good as Walt Disney World in Florida depends on what you’re looking for. You’ll find attractions at Disneyland Paris that you won’t find at Walt Disney World in Florida and vice versa.

But do yourself a favor and don’t compare Disneyland Paris to Walt Disney World in Florida. You’re just setting yourself up for failure.

Is Disneyland Paris cheaper than Florida?

The cost of visiting Disneyland Paris versus Disney World in Florida can vary depending on several factors, such as travel dates, the type of tickets purchased, accommodation choices, and dining options.

Compared to Disney World in Florida, Disneyland Paris generally tends to be less expensive. This is in part due to its smaller size and fewer parks and attractions, which can result in lower ticket prices and other costs.

However, it’s important to note that Disneyland Paris has fewer on-property accommodations, which can make lodging costs more expensive compared to some options at Walt Disney World in Florida.

But as we’ll discuss in this post, there are ways to get around how expensive Disneyland Paris can be.

Is one day enough for Disneyland Paris

Figuring out whether one day is enough for Disneyland Paris largely depends on your individual plans for the trip. If you’re primarily interested in experiencing the attractions unique to Disneyland Paris, you may be able to fit everything into one day.

However, if you’re looking to fully immerse yourself in the park’s atmosphere, enjoy the various shows, and take your time exploring, you may want to consider extending your trip. We did both Disneyland Paris parks in one day and honestly, that was more than enough for me (I was ready to explore more of France), but again we’re annual passholders for Walt Disney World so that was a huge factor.

Is Disneyland Paris worth a trip?

If you’re a Disney fan and have ambitions to visit all the parks around the world, then Disneyland Paris is definitely worth the trip.

For those who haven’t had the opportunity to visit Disney parks in the U.S., Disneyland Paris is also worth the trip.

But if you have been to the parks in the U.S. and are hoping for a similar experience at Disneyland Paris, you may be disappointed. In this case, it may be best to skip the park, particularly if you have limited time to explore Paris and France.

If I could do it again, I would purchase a one-park ticket to the Disneyland Park to see the iconic castle and enjoy the spectacular fireworks and light show. The castle is stunning and I loved that you can walk around inside. Plus, there’s a dragon underneath the castle, which is also fun.

However, the Walt Disney Studios park may not be worth a visit, especially if you’ve already experienced the Avengers campus in California Adventure. Ultimately, it’s important to manage expectations and prioritize the experiences that are most important to you.

Disney Pre-planning Tips

It’s important to decide upfront what type of experience you’re looking for on your girls trip to Disney World. Whether you’re looking to ride all the rides, drink around the world, or celebrate a special occasion, make sure your group is on board and that everyone is on the same page.

If the idea of planning a trip to Walt Disney World seems a bit overwhelming, you can always book through a Disney travel planner to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

How far in advance should you plan your trip to Disney World?

A good rule of thumb when planning your girls trip to Disney World is to try planning around 6 months in advance. If you’re looking to score a discount (like Disney+, Disney Visa, or Florida Resident) those are usually released 3 – 6 months in advance. If you’re using a Disney Vacation Planner, they can advise you on when is a good time to book and what discounts are available to you.

Definitely, don’t wait until the last minute, but you don’t necessarily need to do this more than six months in advance (unless you’re trying to stay in a specific resort or on very specific dates).

Deciding on the perfect dates

It’s important to find a balance between school and work schedules, seasonal weather conditions, and Disney’s annual calendar. There are certain times of the year when certain parks are less crowded and certain activities are offered, so it’s important to consider the weather, your travel dates, and the parks’ hours of operation when planning your trip.

The best times to visit Disney World are between late September and early November and from mid-February until the first week of April when the weather is cool but not too cold. You also want to avoid any times when kids are out of school.

You’ll find that there are many festivals and special events at the parks throughout the year, but that doesn’t mean that those days will always be crowded. The summer months (June through August) and holidays, such as Christmas Day and New Year’s, are high-traffic times in Orlando, which can make the parks more crowded and expensive.

WDW Prep School is a great resource for all things Disney and updates its crowd calendars and the best times to go to Disney World on a regular basis. AllEars.net is also great and offers videos, blog posts, and more.

Personally, I go to all of the EPCOT festivals and visit Disney World every year to see the fall and Christmas decorations. I have found that if we plan our trip around dates that do not fall when the kids are out of school or when people are likely off work the parks are less crowded and a lot more enjoyable.

Planning a budget-friendly itinerary

After deciding who’s in, what you’re doing, and when you’re going, it’s time to decide on a budget. Walt Disney World is not cheap, so it’s important to be realistic about what each person in the group can afford.

If you’re traveling with a large group of friends, planning an itinerary can be tricky. There are so many things to consider, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Start by deciding what you and your friends want to do while visiting Disney World.

• Are there specific Disney attractions you want to see?
• Do you want to go to a specific park each day?
• Are there certain character meet and greets or parades you want to see?
• Is there a specific resort that you want to stay at?

Once you’ve decided on the top priorities, it’s easier to create an itinerary. One way to make your Disney itinerary budget friendly is to plan one park visit per day. Visit the parks you want to go to during the low-traffic times, like early mornings or late evenings.

Here are some ways to save money and budget for your girls trip to Disney World:

• Get a Landry’s Select Club Card, this could save you money on some restaurants in Orlando. Plus you’ll get discounts and rewards.
• Purchase discounted gift cards at stores like Costco or Sam’s Club. You can purchase gift cards at Target with your RedCard and get 5% back.
• Use Points and Miles on airfare, hotels, or theme park tickets.
• Plan a shopping day at Disney Springs instead of going to the theme parks. There are many restaurants, shops, and activities and there is no charge for admission or parking at Disney Springs. You can spend a whole day there easily.

Choosing the best hotels

Next, you’ll want to book your resort. There are plenty of great accommodations at Walt Disney World, including some of our favorite Disney resorts for a girls trip!

There are plenty of options to choose from when booking hotels while visiting Disney World. From budget-friendly hotels to luxury resorts, there’s something for every kind of traveler. It’s important to think about how many people will be staying in a room, how many nights you’ll be staying, and also how much you’re willing to spend on accommodations.

Disney’s Boardwalk area offers close proximity to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin is technically a Marriott property, so you can use Marriott Bonvoy points to book.

For those on a budget, the Disney value or moderate resorts are also a great option. My favorite and most underrated moderate resort is Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. You can also check out the many Disney Springs hotels.

You can also stay off-property to save money and open up possibilities to explore other areas of Central Florida. You can rent a vacation home, which can be cheaper than booking a hotel, and comes with a kitchen where you can prepare group meals.

Where to eat

Walt Disney World is home to a wide variety of amazing restaurants, ranging from casual to fine dining. Whether you’re looking for a delicious character breakfast or just a fun night out with the girls, you’ll be sure to find something that meets your needs.

For when you’re in the parks, you’ll want to read my post on the best places to eat at Disney World on a budget. You’ll find info on the budget-friendly quick service and table service options at the Walt Disney World parks.

• Disney Springs restaurants

• California Grill at Disney’s Contemporary
• Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary
• Boatwright Dining Hall at Port Orleans Riverside
• Flying Fish Disney’s Boardwalk

Booking tickets for the parks

Regardless of when you plan to visit the Disney theme parks, it’s best to purchase your tickets in advance as soon as you’ve finalized your travel dates. You can purchase park tickets online and link them to your My Disney Experience app so that you can make park reservations immediately after purchasing.

It’s not necessary for everyone in your group to purchase tickets and make park reservations at the same time. So if you have friends that are on the fence, don’t wait for them to decide before buying your tickets and making park reservations. Just keep in mind that park reservations may not be available for desired dates if you wait too long!

*If plans change, you can always update your ticket dates and park reservations based on availability and you may have to pay the difference in price changes.

Depending on how many days you will be visiting Disney World, I would recommend skipping the park hopper add-on. You can save a lot of money by visiting one park per day and you won’t get burned out as easily. Try visiting the park early in the morning, going back to your Disney resort for a midday nap, and then going back to the park in the evening.

Organizing transportation

Disney offers several different types of transportation between theme parks and hotels. The Disney transportation options include bus, boat, monorail, and water taxis.

If you’re taking Disney transportation between parks, keep in mind that certain transportation options, like the bus, stop running at certain times of the day or at certain hours of the night. You can keep track of the buses via the My Disney Experience app.

Also, keep in mind that you can order Uber and Lyft that will take you from the parks to your resort or wherever you want to go if the other transportation options are not convenient. The Disney Minnie Van service via Lyft is available for accessible options as well.

Packing the essentials

If you’re traveling during the hot summer months, it’s best to pack light and bring plenty of water. The Disney parks offer free water refill stations, so if you’re bringing your own water bottles, make sure to keep them with you so you can refill them throughout the day.

If you’re visiting during cooler weather, a light sweatshirt or jacket is a must-have. A pair of comfortable walking shoes are also recommended, especially if you plan on visiting more than one park per day.

And don’t forget, this is Florida so it’s probably going to rain. You need to bring ponchos, umbrellas, or whatever you need to help you keep dry. If it looks like it’s going to rain I always bring an extra pair of underwear, socks, and shorts.

Planning Magical Activities

There’s plenty to do for a girls trip to Disney World that does not include going to the theme parks or shopping at Disney Springs. Disney World also has a huge list of Enchanting Extras that include unique tours, wine-tasting experiences, food-tasting experiences, fireworks viewing, and more! If your girls are interested in trying one of these activities, it’s best to book them as far in advance as possible, as the availability is limited.

It wouldn’t be a girls trip to Disney World if you don’t experience the various nightlife venues as well. If you love a fun night of dueling pianos, make sure you check out Jelly Rolls at the Boardwalk. There is a cover charge just to enter, so budget accordingly!

You can also plan a Monorail Crawl! The monorail crawl is a fun, unofficial drinking challenge (can be non-alcoholic as well) in which you utilize the free Walt Disney World Monorail System to visit the bars at all three Monorail Resort Hotels: Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Bars, lounges, and restaurants along this adventure include Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Steakhouse 71 Lounge at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Enchanted Rose at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

It is free to ride the Walt Disney World Monorail System and visit the iconic Magic Kingdom Resort Hotels, whether it is to participate in the crawl or in other areas, as well as take joy rides to and from EPCOT. Remember to drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

With the ever-increasing costs of a Disney World vacation, it can be difficult to figure out how to feed your family while still sticking to your budget. Luckily, there are plenty of options for eating cheaply at the Disney World parks!

From quick-service restaurants to snack stands, there are plenty of ways to get delicious food at a fraction of the cost. Keep reading to learn how to save money on meals, snacks, and even special treats so that you and even your wallet will have a great time at Disney World!

Bring your own food and drinks into Walt Disney World Theme Parks – Yes, you can absolutely bring your own food and drinks into the theme parks. You must make sure that you follow Disney guidelines for bringing food and drinks. For example, you can bring a small lunch box with cold sandwiches, snacks, water, and soft drinks.

I suggest that you also bring a refillable insulated water bottle. All Disney quick-service restaurants will give you free tap water cups (as many as you want). When available, you can also walk right up to the soda fountain machine and refill your cup with water. A 20 oz bottle of water at the theme parks will cost around $3.75 each. You should be drinking about 4-6 of those a day. That adds up!

Buy discounted Disney gift cards – Sam’s Club sometimes will have discounted Disney gift cards. If you are a Target Red Card member you can save 5% when purchasing gift cards. You can also use a credit card that will get you the most points/cash back when making your gift card purchase. If you’re making a purchase online, you should also make sure you’re using a shopping portal like Rakuten so you can stack rewards and save money.

Order kid’s meals when you can – When ordering food from quick service restaurants, it’s really easy to order from the kid’s menu. Some places have very similar (if not even more appetizing) options but in smaller portions and for cheaper. If you’re not a big eater, it can be a good money-saving tip.

Order appetizers – Sometimes the appetizers are nicely portioned and cost less than ordering an entrée. If you’re at a table service restaurant that is not “pre fixe” or a buffet it’s perfectly acceptable to order a few appetizers instead of entrees. You can save some money and you won’t leave hungry!

Annual Pass holder discounts – if you’re a Disney annual pass holder don’t forget to ask for your discount! Most Disney restaurants and some quick service spots will offer discounts, but you have to ask. It doesn’t hurt to always ask even if they say no. You may be surprised.

Pay with a travel credit card and charge everything to the room – if you are staying at an onsite Disney-owned and operated resort and are using a magic band, you will have the option to charge whatever you spend at the parks to your room. If you’re using a travel credit card to pay for room charges this can give you a good amount of points because all of your purchases will code as travel. If you used your credit card directly in the parks, it would probably code as entertainment which would likely not earn you as many points.

Get a Landry’s Club Card – You may not know about the Landry’s Club card, but Landry’s owns many restaurants around the country including Rainforest Cafe and Yak & Yeti which have locations in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.

It’s $25 to join the club, but you’ll receive a $25 welcome reward to use immediately at any of their locations. You’ll also receive rewards points, discounts, and another $25 reward to use during your birthday month. Also, if you don’t have a reservation and flash your card, they will do their best to get you seated right away! You can’t charge to the Landry’s card so it’s also a good opportunity to stack with a credit card that will earn you points on dining.

Don’t be afraid to share – The portion sizes in the parks vary, but if they are too big for you alone don’t be afraid to share. You will definitely be able to find plenty of options for sharing at quick service spots. If you’re doing a la carte table service restaurant, it’s totally ok to order a couple of lower-priced items and share.

Pro Tip – To save time you should always use the mobile order option within the My Disney Experience App when available. You’ll see the option available for most quick-service restaurants.

What can you eat at Magic Kingdom on a budget?

Magic Kingdom has a ton of places to eat, some places you’ve heard of and some you probably had no idea existed. Here’s a list of the Magic Kingdom restaurants and their full menus.

Magic Kingdom Quick Service or Carts

Casey’s Corner (Main Street)

Casey’s Corner’s outdoor seating has a great view of Cinderella’s Castle and from some select seats inside you can see the fireworks show as well. I love that they have a variety of hot dogs and also offer plant-based options.

Snacks will run you between $4.50 and $6.50. Entrees will run you between $10-$15. Get the corn dog nuggets!

The Lunching Pad (Tomorrowland)

The Lunching pad is centrally located in Tomorrow Land right in front of Space Mountain. It’s a quick-service spot with only outdoor seating, but some of it is covered. You’ll want to get the cream cheese stuffed pretzel and Walt’s chili-cheese foot-long hot dog.

It will cost you between $6.50-$8 for a snack or $9.50 to $15 for an entrée.

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe (Tomorrowland)

Cosmic Ray’s is located in Tomorrow Land on the border to Fantasy Land. They have a ton of indoor seating so it’s a good spot to get away from the sun. The outside seating is also covered. They have a great variety of items so it’s a perfect spot for lunch or dinner.

They have some great options on the kid’s menu that can work for an adult lunch. It’s also a great pick for food allergies and plant-based options.

Kid’s meals will be between $7-$8. Entrees will run between $11-$15.

Sleepy Hollow (Liberty Square)

Sleepy Hollow is definitely one of the hidden gems on this list. They have so many yummy cheap eats at Disney World. I will say that for the corn dog alone it’s one of the best places to eat at Disney World on a budget.

It will cost you between $5.50-$8.50 for a snack. An entrée or sandwich will be around $11 to $13.

Liberty Square Market

Liberty Square Market looks like they only have fruit, snacks, and soft drinks but they also offer Turkey Legs and Hot dogs after 11:00 am. It’ll run you between $9-$13.

Columbia Harbour House (Liberty Square)

Columbia Harbour House is the place if you’re in the mood for some seafood. It’s located right outside of the entrance to The Haunted Mansion attraction.

They have some great options on the kid’s menu that can work for an adult lunch if you don’t mind a smaller portion. It’s also a great pick for food allergies and plant-based options.

Kid’s meals are under $9 and entrees are between $13 to $17.

The Friar’s Nook (Fantasyland)

If you want some breakfast, but want to skip busy Mainstreet The Friar’s Nook has a pretty tasty breakfast sandwich. Do a mobile order and it will be ready for you when you arrive! They have some yummy tater tots and doughnut holes as well. For lunch, grab a burger, a hot dog, loaded tater tots, mac and cheese or a hot dog with mac and cheese on top. Yum!

Breakfast and kid’s meals are $6-$8. Entrees are between $11-$14.

Pinocchio Village Haus (Fantasyland)

Pinocchio Village Haus has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. If you like flatbread pizzas and want a variety of kid’s menu items then this is the place for you. It’s also allergy friendly.

Prices for the kid’s menu are $7-$9 and entrées range from $9-$12.

Gaston’s Tavern (Fantasyland)

Gaston’s Tavern is mostly for beverages, but they do offer a yummy ham and cheese sandwich. You’re looking at $7-$12.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe (Frontierland)

Pecos Bill is the place where you go for Tex-Mex, they have a lot of indoor and outdoor seating. If not all of your party likes Tex-Mex, don’t worry there are burgers too.

They have some great options on the kid’s menu that can work for an adult lunch. It’s also a great pick for food allergies and plant-based options.

Kid’s meals will be between $7-$9. Entrees will run between $10-$16. Don’t forget to mobile order!

Golden Oak Outpost (Frontierland)

If Pecos Bill looks too busy, check out Golden Oak Outpost right next door. Their menu is small, but it may fit your needs. Get the Pecos Pico Tenders – Loaded Chicken Strips with Sour Cream, Cheddar, and Pico.

You’re looking at $6-$11.

Westward Ho (Frontierland)

Westward Ho is a small kiosk, but with some yummy breakfast and snacks. You can get coffee and tea here as well. You can also grab corn dog nuggets here!

Breakfast is $6-$8 and other snacks range from $3-$11.

Tortuga Tavern (Adventureland)

Tortuga Tavern has chicken strips, burgers, and hot dogs but with a twist.

These will run you between $11-$13.

Magic Kingdom Table Service Restaurants

Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen (Adventureland)

Skipper Canteen is the Jungle Cruise themed table service restaurant. The atmosphere is great and the menu is unique. It could be a nice break from burgers, mac and cheese, or hot dogs. They have many allergy-friendly options as well.

Appetizers will run between $9-$15. Kid’s meals are pretty substantial and are between $11-$14. Entrees will range from $21-$40.

The Diamond Horseshoe (Liberty Square)

Are you looking for a Thanksgiving or Christmas-style comfort meal? Look no further! The menu at The Diamond Horseshoe is all you care to enjoy, so come here hungry. There are allergy-friendly options as well. Adults are $39++ and Kids are $21++.

The Plaza Restaurant (Main Street)

The Plaza is a beautiful place for a sit-down lunch or dinner on a budget. It’s one of the cheapest places to eat in Magic Kingdom when it comes to table service restaurants. It’s American-style food with plant-based and allergy-friendly options.

Appetizers and entrees range between $9-$25. There are some tasty options and don’t forget the dessert!

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant (Main Street)

I love Lady and the Tramp, so I think the theming is super cute and fun. You’ll find Tony’s on the right when you enter the park. It’s usually pretty easy to walk into if you try outside of peak lunch or dinner hours. They serve your typical Italian fare. They have a good kid’s menu, plant-based, and allergy-friendly options as well.

Kid’s meals are $11 and $12. Appetizers and Entrees will run you between $9 and $36. You can make a meal out of appetizers, but also entrees are pretty large and can be shared.

What can you eat at EPCOT on a budget?

Epcot is known for its festival kiosks. The kiosks will have smaller portioned delights ranging from around $4-$12 in price depending on the item.

But what you may not know is that Epcot is also home to some of the best places to eat at disney world on a budget, which can be visited all year long. Here’s a list of Epcot restaurants and their full menus.

EPCOT Quick Sevice or Carts

Connections Eatery (World Celebration)

Connections Eatery is probably the best quick service spot in Epcot. They have a variety of really good food and a lot of seating. They have a good kid’s menu, and plant-based, and allergy-friendly options as well.

It’s also conveniently located near Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind and across from Creations Shop and Club Cool. Club Cool is Sponsored by Coca-Cola and you can taste soft drinks from all around the world for free. That’s right, I said FREE.

Kid’s menu is around $8-$9 and Entrees are between $11-$14.

Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie (France)

I love French food so much. It speaks to my soul. If you love croissants, quiches, and French-style bread, sandwiches, and desserts this is the place for you. It’s a wide range and it will cost you between $3-$10.

Crêpes À Emporter at La Crêperie de Paris

If you like sweet and savory crepes, but don’t need to sit down then you should venture down to the Ratatouille section of Paris for a delight! I think the savory crepes make for a perfect lunch.

Sweet crepes will run you $6-$8 and savory crepes will cost between $10 and $12.

The Land Cart (The Land)

If you’re riding Soarin’ and want a healthy snack, look no further than The Land Cart. You’ll find cheese and vegetable plates as well as Mickey pretzels with cheese. It costs between $5-$10. Oh, and they also have beer :).

Sunshine Seasons (The Land)

Sunshine Seasons is the food court inside The Land. It has a ton of options including American and Asian cuisine. They have snack options, a great kid’s menu, and plant-based and allergy-friendly options. The cost ranges, but you won’t find anything costing more than $15.

Fife & Drum Tavern (America)

Fife and Drum is a small kiosk located near the American Pavilion. You’ll find turkey legs, hot dogs, pretzels, and popcorn. It will cost you between $6-$13.

Regal Eagle Smokehouse (America)

For good ole American BBQ cuisine come to Regal Eagle Smokehouse. You’ll find kid’s meals for under $10 and more BBQ entrees between $10-$17.

Kabuki Cafe (Japan)

Right outside of Japan, you’ll find this little kiosk. It’s got reasonably priced sushi and other Japanese snacks. Sushi will cost you around $6-$7.

Katsura Grill (Japan)

Katsura Grill is tucked away up in Japan, but once you find it you’ll be happy! It has sushi, noodles, and other entrees. You’ll find a good kid’s menu too. It’s pretty small but has some indoor seating. Sushi and other entrees will run you between $10-$16.

Refreshment Port (Canada)

You’ll find chicken nuggets (8 pc.) and traditional poutine for $8-$11.

La Cantina de San Angel (Mexico)

La Cantina de San Angel has some tasty tacos and other snacks and entrees that will run between $10-$16. It’s also got a pretty tasty kid’s menu that will cost around $10.

Lotus Blossom Cafe (China)

If you’re in the mood for Chinese you can grab some chicken fried rice or sweet and sour chicken from the kid’s menu. The kid’s menu is around $10 and other entrees are between $13-$15.

Sommerfest (Germany)

You’ll find brats and pretzels at Sommerfest for around $11.

Yorkshire County Fish Shop (UK)

You can satisfy your craving for fish and chips at the Yorkshire County kiosk next door to Rose and Crown. It’ll cost you around $13.

EPCOT Table Service Restaurants

La Crêperie de Paris

If you want a savory or sweet crepe, but want a sit-down experience then you will love the quaint vibe of La Crêperie de Paris. I’ve had success walking in, but reservations are not as hard to get here as in other Disney World Table Service restaurants.

Sweet crepes cost around $10 and savory crepes cost around $18. The savory crepes are big enough to share!

Nine Dragons Restaurant (China)

Nine Dragons restaurant is probably one of the best places to eat at Disney world on a budget. It’s not too hard to get a reservation either.

Appetizers start at $6 and entrees start at $18.

Rose & Crown Dining Room (UK)

Rose and Crown has indoor and outdoor seating and is a great place for cheap eats at Disney World. They have a good kid’s menu with plant-based and allergy-based options. Keep in mind they only serve dinner.

Entrees are between $22-26, not bad!

Tokyo Dining (Japan)

Tokyo Dining is closed until 2023 for refurbishment, but when it reopens I think it will have a great menu that is reasonably priced.

Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria (Italy)

Via Napoli is located in the back of Italy. It has a large menu of pizza, pasta, and other Italian cuisines. The prices are a wide range, but pizza starts at $21 for a 10-inch pie.

What can you eat at Hollywood Studios on a budget?

If you’re visiting Hollywood Studios chances are it’s because you’re going to visit Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge or Toy Story Land. What you may not know is that they have some pretty tasty and unique options and some cheap places to eat at Disney World. You will find a full list of Hollywood Studios restaurants on the Disney World Website.

Hollywood Studios Quick Service or Carts

Backlot Express (Echo Lake)

Backlot Express is a nice big food court with some yummy offerings at a great price. You’ll find bowls, burgers, sandwiches, and other snacks. They have a kid’s menu, plant-based, and allergy-friendly options.

It’ll run you around $7-$15.

Dockside Diner (Echo Lake)

Grab a hot dog and a beer at Dockside Diner. It’ll cost around $10-$13.

BaseLine Tap House (Grand Avenue)

On your way to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, you’ll pass by Baseline Tap House. I love to grab a drink, and a snack and sit outside. They have pretty unique and tasty snacks like cheese and charcuterie or Coffee-rubbed Rib-Eye Beef Puff. It is yummy!

It’ll run you around $10-$13, but the portions make for a pretty hearty snack.

PizzeRizzo (Grand Avenue)

Perfect place to grab a pizza or a meatball sub. There’s a bunch of seating inside or outside. They have a good kid’s menu, and plant-based and allergy-friendly options.

The cost is between $7-$12.

ABC Commissary (Commissary Lane)

ABC Commissary is another food court-like spot. They have a lot of indoor seating. They serve your typical menu of sandwiches, salads, burgers, and even tacos. Their kid’s menu is not bad plus they have plant-based and allergy-friendly options.

The cost will range between $8-$15.

Catalina Eddie’s (Sunset Boulevard)

Well, it’s not a big variety but if you’re in the mood for pizza you can find it at Catalina Eddie’s. There are kid’s portions and allergy-friendly options as well.

It will cost around $8-$12.

Fairfax Fare (Sunset Boulevard)

You can grab bowls at Fairfax Fare, they have a plant-based option. It will cost you around $15.

Rosie’s All-American Café (Sunset Boulevard)

You’ll find hot dogs and burgers here that will cost between $9-$15.

Ronto Roasters (Galaxy’s Edge)

Ronto Roasters is an outdoor venue, but with some covered seating. It can sometimes be hard to find a spot, but most dishes are portable. It’s a good spot for breakfast or lunch. The Ronto Wrap is pretty popular. They have a couple of kid’s items and offered plant-based and allergy-friendly options.

The menu items here will cost you between $7-$13.

Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo (Galaxy’s Edge)

Unlike Ronto Roasters, Docking Bay 7 has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. However, I would check the menu if you have picky eaters because it does have some interesting options. They have plant-based and allergy-friendly options.

The menu items here will run you between $10-$20.

Woody’s Lunch Box (Toy Story Land)

Woody’s is one of my favorites because I love tater tots. You can grab a variety of tot bowls for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have plant-based as well! They also have good sandwiches and you should definitely grab one of the Daily Lunch Box Tarts (like homemade pop tarts).

Tarts are around $5 and the rest will cost between $7-$15.

Hollywood Studios Table Service Restaurants

50’s Prime Time Cafe (Echo Lake)

50’s Prime Time Cafe is a (you guessed it) 50’s themed table service restaurant. It offers all the American comfort foods that will keep you full at a great price. You’ll expect to see Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, and Pot Roast. They’ve also got a good kid’s menu and allergy-friendly options.

It will run you around $12-$30. There are plenty of good portioned options around the $20-$25 range.

Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano (Grand Avenue)

Mama Melrose is tucked deep into Grand Avenue, but it’s worth the detour. You’ll find typical Italian-style food with a good kid’s menu and allergy-friendly options.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant (Commissary Lane)

Sci-fi Diner has a fun atmosphere. It’s a great option for either lunch or dinner. Items will cost from $11-$27. They have a great kid’s menu and allergy-friendly options. I will warn you that they seat you in “cars” so it can be a tight fit if you have more than 6 in your party.

What can you eat at Animal Kingdom on a budget?

It’s true that Animal Kingdom is the least popular park, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have some of the best places to eat at Disney World on a budget. You will find a full list of Animal Kingdom restaurants and their menus on the Disney World Website.

Animal Kingdom Quick Service or Carts

Pizzafari (Discovery Island)

You come here for pizza, sandwiches and some other kid-like food items. They have plant-based and allergy-friendly options as well.

It will cost between $7-$12.

The Smiling Crocodile (Discovery Island)

The Smiling Crocodile is where you go for some tacos. They will cost you about $10 for 2 tacos.

Flame Tree Barbecue (Discovery Island)

Flame Tree is where you get (you guessed it) bbq. You’ll find all your favorites there and a couple of good choices on the kid’s menu. Kid’s meals are $7-$8 and entrees will cost you between $12-$17.

Terra Treats (Discovery Island)

You can grab a slice of pizza here too for under $7.

Eight Spoon Café (Discovery Island)

This is where you’ll find yummy mac and cheese and the Pulled Pork – Jelly Doughnut Sandwich! Expect to see prices as low as $5-$7.

Satu’li Canteen (Pandora)

You would come here if you want a choice of bowls. They have plant-based and allergy-friendly options as well. It will run between $8-$15

Pongu Pongu (Pandora)

Come here for breakfast because not only do they have the biscuit sandwich, but they have french toast sticks! You can grab a couple of other yummy snacks here too. The breakfast will run you around $7.

Restaurantosaurus (DinoLand)

They’ve got the typical hot dogs, burgers, sandwiches, and salads. They also have a good kid’s menu with plant-based and allergy-friendly options. You’re looking at it costing between $10-$15.

Yak & Yeti Local Food Cafes (Asia)

Yak and Yeti cafe is great for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Breakfast bowls run around $11-$13 and lunch or dinner starts at $13. They have good kid’s menu options too.

Harambe Market (Africa)

Harambe Market has bowls, salads, and allergy-friendly options. It’s $7-$9 for kid’s meals and $11-$15 for entrees.

Tamu Tamu Refreshments (Africa)

They have the breakfast biscuit sandwich here too! So definitely stop here for breakfast, they have pastries as well. The cost is between $4-$8.

Kusafiri Coffee Shop & Bakery (Africa)

Kusafiri is perfect for breakfast or a light lunch. You can get a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit, or a flatbread for lunch.

Breakfast starts at $4, the breakfast biscuit will be around $7. A flatbread will run you around $11.

Animal Kingdom Table Service Restaurants

Nomad Lounge (Discovery Island)

I have to put Nomad Lounge on the list because it’s one of my absolute favorites. I love sitting outside on the water, but when it’s too hot (thanks Florida) the indoor seating is really nice too. They have more of a snack menu, but if you order a few it’s enough for a light lunch.

The items here will cost between $9-$16. They do not take reservations, but there is a walk-up list. If you get there around the opening time you’ll likely have your pick of seating.

Yak & Yeti Restaurant (Asia)

Yak and Yeti are perfect for a late lunch or dinner and it’s not that hard to get a reservation. Plus if you have a Landry’s Club card you’ll get rewards and may even be able to get in without a reservation.

Menu items start at $11 for kid’s food and entrees range from $20-$37, but It’s quite a large menu.

Bottom Line
